Natural History Museum X The Event Company

Providing bespoke audio visual technology in one of London’s iconic landmark to make our client’s wedding celebration memorable.

Client Brief: Wedding Reception

We love to work on all types of briefs and when we were asked to provide our creative ideas for a client’s wedding reception at the Natural History Museum, we were delighted to plan and host this event. We sat down with the couple and listened and discussed their ideas and ambitions.

The clients dream was to make the venue look elegant with a gala feel, showcasing sophistication and classiness. It needed to be themed with colours that suited the décor and internal Hintze hall’s hanging blue whale skeleton.

Solution

With the venue being such an iconic London landmark it required spectacular audio visual design and delivery. We turned this stunning space from a daytime world-class exhibition space with ornate architecture to a night-time luxury wedding reception, ready for the bride and groom’s celebrations.

Staging decor started from the staircase where we built an opulent backdrop for the couple to walk down when they first enter. A large central stage was strategically built underneath the famous blue whale skeleton keeping inline with the rooms iconic features and focal points.

To bring the venue to life at night we set-up warm but vibrant projections of lights to enhance the natural stone work in the Hintze hall. We integrated strobe effect lights to create a party like atmosphere. The blue whale skeleton was the focal point inside the venue and to enhance its stature we used static lights to provide an illumination effect.

Alongside lighting our expert sound technicians set up D&B sound system strategically positioned around the entire venue providing an immersive sound experience. We added

wireless microphones for speeches.

Guest entertainment was provided by our resident DJs. A custom DJ booth with the bride and grooms initials were printed using quality vinyl.

The venue was made complete with a custom polished dance-floor.
